Barthes in his text called The Lucid Camera states: "Photography only acquires its full value with the irreversible disappearance of the referent, with the death of the subject photographed" (p.23). I think this has a very strong symbolic load, since it refers to the fact that photography always keeps the photographed alive, since photography is a tangible and visual memory that will allow us to live forever. Although despite what happens and even if time passes, the photograph will continue to exist, perhaps not intact, but preserved, and without knowing the photographed we could believe that it is still alive, but maybe this is wrong. Reality hiding in the images, being its best alloy, death.
